Tower residences to rise soon in Davao City
THE Royal Mandaya Hotel, a subsidiary of the Escandor Group Companies, is set to put up a high-rise mixed-used building C.M. Recto Ave. (Claveria) area.
The Royal Mandaya Hotel general manager Benjamen Banzon, Jr., during a press conference at the hotel on Tuesday, August 22, said the Davao Royal Suites and Residences will rise on the current location of the Royale House Travel Inn and Suites.
He said for the highrise building, which is still in its initial stages of planning, they are looking into developing it into a mixed-use structure with three floors dedicated to commercial spaces; some 120 rooms for the hotel component; and the rest will be dedicated for residential units.
Banzon said as to the number of floors, it has yet to be determined though they hope to have a total of 35 floors. However, he said this will depend as to how tall the city will allow them to construct. He also pointed out that from the design to the features of the new development, it is all still in the initial stages of planning. Banzon said the construction is targeted to start in three years’ time.
As for the timeline of the construction, it will depend on the design of the high-rise development. Banzon also announced during the conference that they are presently implementing improvements for the Royal Mandaya Hotel.
He said among their improvements is renovating the lobby to give it a more modern look and feel. Likewise, they are on track on improving their staff through the training programs they have developed.
